During his 35+ years of law practice, Tom has assisted individuals in planning and managing their
estates, as well as representing individual and corporate clients in business planning and
transactions, real estate matters and in general transactional law issues.
In 1974 Tom founded the California Law Institute, now the Santa Barbara College of Law, where
he was the school's President of Administration and Academic Dean. While at the law school, Tom
was also a Professor of Law for courses in Trusts, Wills and Estates and he has practiced law in this
area ever since that time. Tom later taught courses in Business Law at Santa Barbara City College
for a number of years.
BACKGROUND:
Tom is a fourth generation Santa Barbaran, born at Cottage Hospital and raised in Santa Barbara County.
Tom primarily attended local schools through the sophomore year of college and has strong roots in the
community. He holds Life-Time California Community College Credentials as an Instructor,
Supervisor/Dean and Chief Administrative Officer. Tom is committed to the conservation and intelligent
utilization of our natural resources.
